Simultaneous Interpreting

Simultaneous interpreters interpret the spoken word almost at the same time as it is spoken. Thereby, the term 'simultaneous' does not refer to any temporal dimension, but rather the fact that the interpreter does two things simultaneously: listening and speaking.

Simultaneous interpreters are under great mental and physical stress (the combination of permanent concentration and use of the voice) and therefore usually work in teams of two in specially designed interpreting booths. They listen to the speakers on headphones and speak into microphones; this signal then goes to the headphones of the audience.

Our interpreters are all experienced and qualified experts, who have specialized in certain fields and work only in those fields. Contact Multilingua International for further information on our simultaneous interpreting services and ensure the success of your next event!
